Many parents know intuitively that their child's
sleep patterns need to change, but they don't know where to start
or how to continue. They may have "tried everything" to no avail.
The Sleep Lady® works with you from start to finish!
 |
Initial meeting with both parents (may include the
child) in my office in Annapolis, MD. Phone consultations are
available for families out of state. |
 |
Developmental history and history of the current problem-
including a detailed 24 hour schedule of daily routines. During
this consultation I offer education on children's sleep and
development, and a supportive and objective ear to create an
INDIVIDUALIZED plan to begin improving your child's sleep habits. |
 |
Frequent telephone coaching
to follow up, strategize and provide support, and education. |
Prior to our work together, your pediatrician should rule out or
complete treatment of any medical problems that may be causing or
contributing to your child's sleep problems. It is important that
your pediatrician agree that your child "should" sleep through the
night given their age, weight and medical health.
Parents usually like to know…
 |
The average length of time I work with a family is
3 weeks. |
 |
No, I am not going to suggest that you just close the door
and let your child scream! I would never suggest anything
that would make you feel like a horrible parent! |
 |
I am completely supportive of breastfeeding and our
work does NOT require nor recommend that you stop! |
 |
I am not "against" the family bed- it is only a problem
if you are using the family bed because it is the ONLY way your
child will fall asleep. |
 |
Children's sleep problems do NOT go away on their own! |
 |
I almost always recommend a gentle, gradual approach
to helping your child where you are providing love, support
and nurturance! |
